Step 1:
You go on a drawer marathon throughout the company and eventually find just enough paper in the drawer with "chocolate for guests" and get it printed in a hurry.
Step 2:
Going to meetings where you're so red-headed you look like someone who actually just ran a marathon.
Step 3:
After the meeting, you buy a whole pallet of printer paper – because it must never happen again!
Is it just bad luck?
No, because of course there must be control over how much printer paper there must be in a workplace. The problem arises when we act on our fears. We become afraid that it will happen again.
When we are afraid, we build storage
If we fear "empty", we go after overflowing. But - there must be enough in the house so that you are not missing anything, but not so much that there is no more "house" left.
But what is the solution?
It is about knowledge and insight into doing the right thing:
- How much should there be?
- Where should it be placed?
- How little will there be before we fill up again?
Of course, this does not only apply to printer paper, but to all types of stock. Including toilet paper, so there is no reason to panic and fear if the country suddenly closes.
